Sheep’s wool retains heat even when wet, which is a great advantage where mittens are concerned. It means you can build a snowman or have a snowball fight with the kids and your hands won’t get cold.

These traditional mittens have cuffs made of warm terrycloth which you can wear folded over or unfolded. When unfolded, they reach about halfway down the forearm – ideal if you are wearing a coat with shorter sleeves, for example. In the thumb and fingertips area, the wool is thicker to make sure your fingers are always nice and warm. In addition to sheep’s wool, other materials have been used to give the knitted fabric durability and strength so that this fluffy winter wardrobe accessory lasts longer.
